Sustainable Education

Odd Duck Garden will host and partner with other organizations, such as Envirovillage,  to offer classes, workshops and community events on a variety of subjects including but not limited to water litigation, conservation, food production, and permaculture gardening techniques.

Permaculture:  The development of agricultural ecosystems intended to be sustainable and self sufficient.

Odd Duck Garden is open to the public on Saturdays, !2-4 pm for anyone who wants to take a tour/stroll through our permaculture inspired garden. Learn more such topics as permaculture design, use of pollinator plants and other plants for insect management, and soil revitalization.

Homesteading: is a lifestyle of self-sufficiency.  It is characterized by subsistence agriculture, home preservation of food, and may also involve the small scale production of textiles, clothing, and craft work for household use or sale.

There is a small gift shop in the garden, which sells seeds, plant starts and various items from local artisans.

Sustainability:  The ability to be maintained at a certain rate or level.  Avoidance of the depletion of natural resources in order to maintain an ecological balance.
